Bradford: An exhibition of rare Quranic manuscripts from the 9th century to the present is on display in the British city of Bradford.

Bradford calligrapher Rizwan-ul-Haq, Dr. Sohail Ahmed, boxing head coach Nisar Hussain and super flyweight boxing world champion Tasif Khan and his team have organized the “Fighting to be Heard” exhibition in collaboration with the British Library, Bradford District Museums and Libraries, City of Culture Bradford 2025 and Tasif Khan Community Boxing Academy.

The exhibition features rare Quranic manuscripts from the 9th, 16th and 19th centuries from Arabia, Iraq, the Middle East, China and the subcontinent, as well as works by various Muslim calligraphers and local artist Rizwan-ul-Haq. The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Bradford Council Leader Susan Hinchcliffe, Bradford University Vice-Chancellor Shirley Cogdon, British Library Curator Daniel Lowe and Bradford District Museums and Libraries Curator Jill Iredale, as well as people from different religions and communities.

The exhibition participants described the visit to the rare Quranic manuscripts as a source of renewal of faith and paid tribute to the youth of Bradford for organizing the inspiring exhibition. The participants said that the combination of boxing and calligraphy reflects the unique thinking of these young people and their commitment to their religion, culture and Islamic art.
The organizers of the exhibition of Quranic manuscripts provided information about the great manuscripts of the divine word.
The organizers said that the main aim of this exhibition is to provide people with access to information regarding Islamic culture, art and culture and to introduce people of other religions besides Muslims to these rare and exquisite manuscripts of the Holy Quran, as well as the works of art of other artists.

The “Fighting to Be Heard” exhibition will continue at the Cartwright Hall, Leicester Park, Bradford until April 27.
