Today, 32 years have passed since the demolition of Babri Masjid, but the wounds of Muslims are still fresh. On December 6, 1992, extremist Hindus demolished the Babri Masjid in the city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.
The attackers belonged to the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. LK Advani and Manohar Joshi had incited the crowd to demolish the Babri Masjid. Extremists attacked the Babri Masjid with axes, hammers and other tools.
Muslims protested and resisted strongly during the demolition of the Babri Masjid. Riots broke out during this period, resulting in the death of more than 2,000 Muslims and the injury of thousands.
