Karachi: An attempt to smuggle 20 thousand Qatari dollars from Jinnah International Airport was foiled.
Pakistan Customs Jinnah International Airport Collectorate foiled an attempt to smuggle 20 thousand US dollars abroad during an operation at the departure lounge of Jinnah Terminal.
Additional Collector Customs Faisal Khan told Express that the passenger named Shahzad was leaving for Doha (Qatar) on flight QR 605. This passenger was able to get clearance from ASF, but due to suspicion, the Customs officials conducted a detailed check of the luggage and recovered 14 thousand US dollars from the passenger’s luggage and 6 thousand US dollars from the body.
He further informed that the customs authorities have registered a case confiscated the American currency and have started an investigation in this regard.
