London: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has said that after the whitewash in the series against Bangladesh, Pakistan has fallen from sixth to eighth in the Test rankings.
ICC says this is Pakistan’s lowest ranking since 1965 in the 12-team rankings. Australia is currently at the top of the Test rankings, followed by India and England.
Bangladesh is now ranked ninth in the latest Test rankings released by the ICC.
In the individual rankings, Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi was ninth before the series against Bangladesh, but now he has moved down to 11th, after which no Pakistani bowler is in the top 10.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan is the only Pakistani player remaining in the top 10 batting rankings, while Babar Azam has dropped three places to 12th.
Babar Azam could score only 64 runs in two Test matches against Bangladesh.
