DUBAI: Financially challenged Indian airline Spicejet had to operate empty flights from Dubai airport to India.
SpiceJet passengers were not allowed to check in on the plane as the airline had not paid the airport fee.
According to the British media, due to the non-payment of airport fees, the passengers of Spice Jet could not board the plane and the airline had to take empty flights to India.
Earlier on August 2, the airline faced a similar situation when SpiceJet flights were canceled due to non-payment of dues.
According to a SpiceJet spokesperson, “The flights were canceled due to operational issues, and the affected passengers were given tickets on other airlines and some passengers were refunded their tickets.”
