Sahiwal: Food authority teams are active against those producing sub-standard food for children while ignoring several sub-standard factories making toffee and biscuits on Pak Patan Road. Citizens demand an immediate crackdown against these factories. Sahiwal Food Authority inspected the packing and producing substandard coffees under the name of well-known brands. During the inspection, coffees of different flavors and fake packing material were recovered. Food products were stored in a dirty area. Food grade certificate for food packaging is not specified on occasion. The food safety team recovered the defective food and destroyed it on the spot. The confectionery unit was closed till rectification.
