ISLAMABAD: Former member of the government right-sizing committee and economist Qaiser Bengali has said that the country is bankrupt and the economy is sinking, but the government is not ready to reduce lavish spending.
Former member of the Right Sizing of the Federal Government Committee established for institutional reforms under the chairmanship of the Federal Finance Minister, Dr Qaiser Bengali said in a press conference in Karachi that everything is normal when you go to Islamabad.
He said that I want to clarify some things on the resignation of the high-powered committee formed by the prime minister, on the recommendation of closing 70 departments of 53 government institutions, the government decided to close only one institution.
Qaiser Bengali said that the recommendations of Hafeez Pasha and Dr. Ishrat Hussain’s committee to reduce government expenditure were not followed and now our recommendations were not being listened to, we were only told to take note of your words. is
He said that first there were technical people in the high-powered committee of restructuring, then 2 federal ministers and political people were added to the committee, based on experience, I am saying that the agenda of federal ministers and political people is something else.
It should be noted that yesterday, Dr. Qaiser Bengali resigned as a member of the Right Sizing of the Federal Government Committee established for institutional reforms under the leadership of the Federal Minister of Finance, in addition to the membership of the committees related to austerity and cost reduction.
