Washington: A high-level delegation comprising senior judges visited the Pakistani Embassy in Washington.
Pakistani Ambassador to America Rizwan Saeed Sheikh received a high-level delegation headed by Justice Shahid Waheed, Senior Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The delegation includes judges of Lahore, Sindh, Peshawar, and Islamabad High Court, District Judiciary, and Additional Attorney General. Mrs. Martina Polasik, Secretary General of the International Center for Investment Disputes, World Bank, Zamrik Khan, and other members of the Commercial Law Development Program of the US Department of Commerce also accompanied the delegation.
This high-level delegation is currently on a visit to the United States, during which it is meeting its counterparts to strengthen the environment for domestic and cross-border dispute settlement, improve the implementation of treaties, and reduce the number of cases pending in courts. Knowledge and skills can be shared to reduce and ensure effective access to justice.
Justice Shahid Waheed said in his remarks that this is a journey of hope and dreams. He emphasized that Pakistan’s legal community is committed to ensuring an effective justice system in the country.
Mrs. Martina Polsek in her remarks expressed the hope that the visit of senior judges and members of the legal community of Pakistan will promote the exchange of information and stronger relations in the field of law between the two countries.
Apart from this, the senior judge of the Supreme Court Justice Mansoor Ali Shah will also leave for America where he will participate in the legal seminar. He will return on September 12 and start judicial work on September 16.
