ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has appointed Pakistani-American fashion designer and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s supporter Khadija Shah as the Head of Strategic Communication of PTI’s Election Analysis and Management Cell (EAMC).

Khadija Shah, the founder of luxury fashion brand Elan, was among thousands of supporters of Imran Khan, including aides, who were detained in the wake of the riots that followed the former prime minister’s arrest on May 9 last year.

In July, Khadija Shah announced that she was renouncing her US citizenship, saying that Imran Khan had nominated her to represent his party in Parliament in a seat reserved for women.

Khadija Shah is the daughter of former military ruler General Pervez Musharraf’s finance team member Dr. Salman Shah. His father also served as an advisor in Punjab during Imran Khan’s regime. She is the granddaughter of former Army Chief General Asif Nawaz Janjua.
