LONDON: New research suggests that neighborhood noise can affect heart health and increase the risk of heart attack.
Research has found that people under the age of 50 have a higher risk of heart attack if they live in a noisy area.
Similarly, another study found that even heart attack survivors have an increased heart health risk if neighborhood noise is a problem.
Marianne Zeller, from France’s University of Burgundy and Hospital of Dijon, said the data provide insight into how noise exposure significantly affects heart health.
Both studies have been presented at the annual meeting of the European Society of Cardiology in London.
