Sahiwal: Alleged police encounter in the Dera Rahim police station area of Sahiwal, one robber was killed and 2 escaped. According to the police sources, 3 armed bandits were committing crimes on the road near Police Station Dera Rahim Chak No. 110/9L when the local people surrounded them and informed the police. As soon as the armed robbers saw the police party, they started firing indiscriminately. 3 armed bandits fired directly at the police party and entered the nearby crop.
A bandit was injured in the firing and was shifted to Civil Hospital. While he succumbed to his injuries while the rest of the accused escaped by taking advantage of the darkness, the dead bandit was identified as Shahadat Ali who was involved in 12 serious cases in Pakpattan district.
