Islamabad: The captain of the Pakistan cricket team has been changed before the Women’s T20 World Cup, now Fatima Sana will lead the national team in the event.
The Women’s National Selection Committee has unanimously appointed Fatima Sana as the captain of the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in the United Arab Emirates from October 3 to 20.
In the T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan has been placed in Group A along with Australia, Sri Lanka, India, and New Zealand while the schedule will be announced later.
Pakistan squad for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Fatima Sana (captain), Alia Riaz, Diana Baig, Gul Feroza, Iram Javed, Maneba Ali (wicketkeeper), Nashera Sindhu, Nida Dar, Umima Sohail, Sadaf Shams, Sadia Iqbal (subject to fitness), Sudra Amin, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tasmia Rabab and Touba Hasan are included.
Apart from this, Najiha Alvi (wicketkeeper) will travel with the team as a reserve player while Ramin Shamim and Umm Hani are also part of the team.
It should be noted that 22-year-old Fatima has so far represented Pakistan in 41 One Day Internationals and 40 T20 Internationals. She has previously led the Pakistan Emerging and Domestic teams.
