Curse this government:…………..The players participating in the Asian Table Tennis Championship are ordered to bear their own travel expenses

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Table Tennis Federation has issued an order to the players of the national team selected for the 27th Asian Table Tennis Championship to bear their travel expenses.

In the statement issued by the federation, the players have been told that the player who does not submit the confirmed return ticket by Monday will be deprived of representing Pakistan. The championship will be held from October 6 to 13 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

National Table Tennis Federation Secretary Ijaz Ali has informed the selected players for the Asian Championship in writing that they will have to bear the travel expenses themselves, the selected player who does not do this will not be eligible to participate in the Asian competitions. A chance will be given to the players who bear the expenses by canceling the registration.

Due to this decision of the federation, eligible players with limited financial resources will be unable to participate in the competitions. Meanwhile, table tennis circles say that this situation indicates that the financial burden is being shifted to the players instead of supporting them, which could prove dangerous for the development of the sport.
