Bangladesh; Interim Government’s decision to revoke Hasina Wajid’s diplomatic passport

Muhammad Mohit

Dhaka: The Interim Government of Bangladesh has decided to cancel the diplomatic passports of Hasina Wajid including the ministers and MPs in her cabinet.

After the attempts of several former ministers and assembly members to flee the country, the interim government has decided to cancel the diplomatic passports of Hasina Wajid and her cabinet and assembly members.

The Ministry of Home Affairs of Bangladesh had issued verbal instructions to the concerned institutions, but now there is a possibility of issuing formal written orders after this decision.

Like any country, diplomatic passports are issued to government ministers and assembly members in Bangladesh, which are valid for 5 years.

Diplomatic passports were issued to the Prime Minister, Cabinet, and MLAs with the approval of which several ministers tried to flee the country after the end of the government.
