Lahore: Kite-flying, kite-making, and their transportation have been declared non-bailable offenses in Punjab. According to the Punjab Home Department, manufacturing, using, and transporting kites, metal strings, wire, tin, and stringed strings is a crime. A kite-flyer will be jailed for 3 to 5 years or a fine of 2 million or both, while a kite-flyer will be jailed for one more year in default. Kite makers and transporters will be jailed for 5 to 7 years or fined 50 lakhs or both. The Kite maker and transporter will be jailed for another 2 years for non-payment of fine. A kite fly will be given a warning for the first time and a fine of 50,000 for being caught for the second time.
