Sahiwal: On Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, grand celebrations were organized in Sahiwal like the rest of the country. The purpose of the ceremony was to remember the historical moment of the establishment of Pakistan and to promote the spirit of patriotism among the young generation.
The biggest event was held at Art Council Sahiwal. RPO Mehboob Rasheed, Commissioner, DPO and DC Saima Ali, MPS Malik Arshad, Malik Qasim Nadeem, and others participated. The flag was hoisted to the tune of the national anthem.
The Print Media Association organized a program, Kashif, president of the Chamber of Commerce Sahiwal cut the cake in various celebrations of Independence Day. President Rana Waheed, General Secretary Rao Atiq, Malik Asif, Imtiaz Butt, Kashif Mushtaq, Malik Irfan, Haris Shah, Rana Saleem, Iftikhar Ahmed, Sheikh Majeed, Ali Raza, Ishtiaq Ahmad Hassan, Abdullah Naza and other journalists were present.
Flag unfurling and cake were also cut at Press Club Sahiwal. DPO Sahiwal Faisal Shahzad and President Rana Javed Nisar, Grand Group Leader Azizul Haque Guraya were the chief guests of the event. Rah-e-Haq Welfare Foundation President Mian Babar Sagheer distributed gifts among the poor. Commissioner Syed Shoaib Iqbal and Additional Commissioner Shafiq Dogar Sahiwal, Jail Superintendent Naveed Ashraf cut the cake.
Madina Masjid Vice President Mushtaq Bhatti cut the Independence Day cake along with the children.
