Milan/Italy: Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day ceremony was held at the Pakistani Consulate in Milan. Consul General Aqsi Nawaz raised the Pakistani flag in the echo of the national anthem. The ceremony started with a recitation by Mohammad Waheed, a staff member of the consulate. Consul General Aqsi Nawaz read out the messages of President Asif Ali Zardari, FIA Officer Asmatullah Junejo, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Deputy Consul Consul General Ahmad Waleed read out the messages of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar. The Focal Person of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis for Italy, Chaudhry Faisal Mahmood Chichi, President of Pak Etihad Association Chaudhry Dilshad Hussain, representatives of the Pakistani community, leading personalities of political, social, and religious organizations participated.
