Sahiwal: Sahiwal Deputy Commissioner Saima Ali has said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, every individual should plant a sapling of their part on the occasion of Independence Day so that green Pakistan can be established. Trees should be planted to protect the country from climate change and started the tree planting campaign to plant 5000 saplings in Chicha Watani. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Chicha Watani Ahsan Waheed Gondal, CEO of Education Chaudhry Ikram, and DO Education Khadim Hussain Maul were also present. Deputy Commissioner Saima Ali said that according to the vision of the Punjab government, plantations should be done at the level of all schools, colleges, and union councils across the district and the national flag should be hoisted along with lamps on all government buildings. He directed the PHA officials to complete the arrangements for the fireworks display at Faridiya Park on the intervening night of August 13 and 14 and asked that entertainment stalls be set up. He also directed the Sports Department to organize various sports competitions in connection with the Independence Day celebrations. On the occasion of August 14, the main ceremony of hoisting the flag will be held at Sahiwal Arts Council and the participation of students of schools and colleges should be ensured in the ceremony held at Jinnah Hall regarding the celebration of independence.
