Lahore High Court: The government’s attitude towards PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami is different

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has said that the government’s attitude towards PTI is different and towards Jamaat-e-Islami.

A hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on the petition filed against PTI not being permitted to hold a rally in Lahore.

Justice Ali Baqir Najafi said that since the first day, I have been asking what is the government’s policy regarding political activity on Independence Day. You have a different attitude towards PTI, different towards Jamaat-e-Islami, Jamaat-e-Islami is protesting.

Lawyer Punjab government said that apart from PTI, the requests of two other political parties were rejected, Jamaat-e-Islami is doing all this without permission, if so, what action did you take against them?

Lawyer Punjab government said that I did not know about it, maybe the Rawalpindi division has done something, the attitude of the political party on the request of the rally has to be seen.

Justice Baqir said that if you are in such danger, the political party can give an affidavit, if you do not give permission even after the affidavit, the law will look into this situation.

“If it is about change of place and time, I will inform you about it tomorrow, when there is political activity, the threats of terrorism increase,” the public prosecutor said.

Justice Ali Baqir Najafi said that you are in danger of what? The government is yours, it is a strong government, I don’t understand if you say that there is no 2 or 5 marla place in Lahore city where meetings can be held.

The public prosecutor said that it cannot be done in the place of two males, you will also admit this.

The court adjourned the hearing till tomorrow, giving time to the public prosecutor to appear with instructions.
