Agartala: Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina is reportedly awaiting a response from Britain on her political asylum request after leaving the country on a military helicopter due to violent protests in the country.
After landing in India’s northeastern city of Agartala, Sheikh Hasina arrived in New Delhi with her sister and requested political asylum from the British government.
Sheikh Hasina has had to extend her stay in New Delhi as she has yet to receive a response from Britain on her political asylum.
Sheikh Hasina is accompanied by her younger sister Sheikh Rehana, who holds British citizenship. Sheikh Rihanna’s daughter Tulip Siddique has been elected as a member of the British Parliament from the Labor Party.
