Dhaka: Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid was the only political leader who remained in power for 16 years, who has now resigned due to intense public protests and pressure and is forced to take refuge in India.
76-year-old Hasina Wajid was elected as the Prime Minister for the fourth time in January this year.
She is also the daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder and first president of Bangladesh. After resigning, revelations about Hasina Wajid’s properties have come to light.
Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also has properties abroad, including a magnificent house in Singapore, a few plots and villas.
As Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid’s salary was more than 13 lakh taka while her total wealth is more than 6 crore taka. Apart from this, she also owns 6 acres of agricultural land and a fish farm.
Sheikh Hasina also has a palatial family home and used to drive an expensive car which she said was a gift.
