Rawalpindi: Continuous rain could not stop the women workers of Jamaat-e-Islami from reaching the sit-in. The convoy coming from Lahore to participate in the Pindi Jalsa was stopped by the Lahore Police. Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rahman criticized the Punjab government and said to immediately release our arrested women until the basic principles of the people are met. The problems will not be solved, we will continue our protest. Our protest is for the protection of people’s rights. Despite the rain, hundreds of women participated in the rally. They said that it was a cowardly act of the rulers to stop the women from participating in the sit-in. Our sit-in is against the government’s cruel taxes and inflation.
