Paris: More than 10,000 athletes are participating in this year’s Olympic Games, representing a total of 206 countries.
The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games was held along the Seine River in the French capital, Paris, with rain-soaked fans cheering on the athletes in boats.
At the start of the event, former French footballer Zinedine Zidane was seen running through the streets of Paris, which he later handed off to some children and boarded a metro train himself. The torch passed through various hands and finally reached a boat, carrying several Olympic legends, from where it was flown into the sky in a hot air balloon.
American singer Lady Gaga also performed at this event. He started his performance with a French song. Apart from them, well-known Canadian singer Celine Dion performed, while dance and rap music artists also showed their talents.
