Politicians, locals and the victim’s family have expressed outrage after footage emerged of a man being beaten and kicked in the head by a police officer at Manchester Airport.

Lawyer Ahmed Yaqoob has said that the older brother of the police officer who assaulted a British Muslim of Pakistani origin and hit him on the head at Manchester Airport is a serving officer in the Greater Manchester Police.

Hundreds of people took part in a demonstration in Manchester under the slogan ‘Stand up against racism’ and chanted slogans such as ‘no justice, no peace’. It was the second protest after hundreds gathered outside Rochdale police station last night.

Ahmed Yaqub, the lawyer of the victim’s family, said that the CT scan of the victim of police violence revealed that a cyst had formed in his brain. He further said that his family is in shock due to the deterioration of his condition in the hospital.
