Amman: Oman’s fast bowler Bilal Khan broke Shaheen Shah Afridi’s record for the fastest hundred wickets in ODI history.
The 37-year-old Bilal Khan lost Shaheen Shah Afridi’s title as the fastest bowler to take 100 wickets in ODI cricket in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League Two match between Oman and Namibia on July 24.
This was the 49th ODI match for left-armer Bilal Khan from Peshawar, in which he took three wickets for 50 runs in the allotted 10 overs while playing for Oman and became the fastest 100 wickets in the history of ODI cricket. Takers became fast bowlers.
Shaheen Shah Afridi broke the world record for being the fastest bowler to take 100 wickets of Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc in the match played against Bangladesh in Kolkata on October 31, 2023 ODI World Cup. This was the 51st ODI match of the Pakistani pacer.
Besides being the fastest bowler to take 100 wickets in the history of ODI cricket, Bilal Khan is also the first bowler to take a hundred wickets for Oman.
