ISLAMABAD: The important meeting of the Election Commission on the issue of giving specific seats to PTI has come to an end, in it has been decided to approach the Supreme Court once again for guidance on the court decision.
In the meeting, the legal team gave a briefing to the Election Commission regarding the legal ambiguity of the decision.
On July 12, the Supreme Court annulled the decision of the Peshawar High Court and the Election Commission in the case of the reserved seats of the Sunni Ittehad Council and declared the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf entitled to the reserved seats.
Election Commission sources say that the party structure of PTI does not exist, the Supreme Court should guide under which authority the party tickets should be accepted.
Sources say that the last date for submitting the party certificate is August 6.
Earlier, the Election Commission’s meeting to implement the Supreme Court’s decision on giving reserved seats to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on July 18 ended inconclusively.
