Islamabad: Another shock to the government, the business community has distrusted the government. Gallup Pakistan, while releasing the report of Business Confidence Index 2024, has said that business organizations have declared the Shehbaz government as the worst government for the economy.
Gallup Pakistan released the second quarterly survey report of the Business Confidence Index 2024.
The report said that businesses rated the Shehbaz government as the worst government for the economy and the government’s fiscal plan for fiscal year 2024-25 as unfit for business.
The report said that the business organizations termed the Shahbaz government as the worst government for the economy, saying that the business community was facing uncertainty and expressed deep disappointment with the government over heavy taxes.
In this context, it was said that due to political turmoil, and new taxes, businesses are suffering from severe disappointment regarding the future and the current, future business situation, and the country’s direction score is predicted to be lower by 4 to 10 percent.
The report said the government’s fiscal plan for the fiscal year 2024-25 is not business-friendly and 2 out of 5 businesses see inflation as the biggest issue.
