LONDON: King Charles III has bestowed a royal title on a rare golden breed goat.
The breed, known for its association with the island of Guernsey, will now have the title of ‘Royal Golden Guernsey Goat’.
The goat was given the title during King Charles III’s visit to the island in the English Channel. This title will be the same for goats of this breed anywhere in the world.
Rebecca Martin, owner of Summerville Tamsin, the eight-year-old goat chosen to represent the breed, said it was hoped the address would increase awareness of the breed.
King Charles III patted the goat after conferring the title and admired its light golden color.
This rare breed of goats is included in the list of endangered species.
