Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has disposed of the petition against the handover of Tehreek-e-Insaf activist Sanam Javed to the Balochistan Police after assurances from the Attorney General.
On Jamrat, Islamabad High Court Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the petition to stop Sanam Javed’s arrest and handover to the Balochistan Police.
On the previous hearing, the court had directed the Islamabad police not to arrest the petitioner in any case till Thursday and not to hand him over to the Balochistan police.
Attorney General Mansoor Awan told Islamabad High Court that Sanam Javed will not be arrested in any further case.
The court was assured that Sanam Javed is not even being handed over to the Balochistan Police and she is free to go back to her home province of Punjab.
During the hearing, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb told Sanam Javed’s counsel that he had seen on the Internet that the petitioner was using very inappropriate language. “Do you guarantee that Sanam Javed will not make any more inappropriate conversations?”
Advocate Mian Ali Ashfaq assured the court that his client Sanam Javed would not use inappropriate words in the future.
Sanam Javed was detained in various cases including terrorism after the events of November last year.
