London: The Pakistani short film ‘The Clown’ won the Satyajit Ray Award for Best Short Film at the London Indian Film Festival.

The film directed by Kamil Cheema was the only Pakistani entry in the competition.

The film tells the heartbreaking story of a married woman who breaks free from her husband’s imprisonment and dances outside a fast-food restaurant.

The cast of ‘The Clown’ includes Farheen Raza Jafri, Shahrzada Pirzada, Adeel Afzal, and Mohammad Saeed Cheema.

It may be recalled that Kamil Cheema’s cross-cultural comedy-drama ‘The Queen of My Dreams’ was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) last year.
