The Lahore High Court has ordered the immediate release of PTI activist Sanam Javed from jail in the Gujranwala case.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Asjad Javed Gharal of the Lahore High Court issued a 14-page written decision on Sanam Javed’s petition against her arrest in the Gujranwala case. Designation in a case of the same nature shows malice, the purpose of repeatedly arresting the petitioner after his release is to defeat the judicial system.
The court said in the written judgment that Deputy Commissioner Lahore and Gujranwala issued detention orders for the petitioner despite being in jail.
It was written in the judgment that the court hopes that the deputy commissioners will not disappoint in the future, the courts giving physical remand should also keep the fundamental rights given in the constitution in front. And directed to send all Deputy Commissioners.
The court wrote in the judgment that the investigating officer had no evidence to name the petitioner in the case, the case against the petitioner was registered in Gujranwala based on malice, and the petitioner was discharged from the case immediately.
In the written decision, it was further stated that the Deputy Prosecutor General stated that there is no further case registered against Sanam Javed, and Sanam Javed should be released from jail immediately.
