Lahore: The selectors Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq have been dismissed from the post due to the poor performance of the national team in the ICCT Twenty World Cup. Both of them are currently in the UK.
According to Dawn sources, now both the former cricketers will not be involved in future selection matters. Mohammad Yousuf and Asad Shafiq will continue as selectors for now.
Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz will be replaced by new selectors. This decision was taken after former cricketers criticized the team selection.
Wahab Riaz, who holds the responsibility as senior manager of the national team, is also likely to be removed from this post. In his place, a senior cricketer or bureaucrat can now be made the new manager of the national team.
A board official has confirmed that Razzak and Wahab will not take on any further selection responsibilities. It has been learned that with the reorganization of the selection committee in the coming days, there may be some important changes in the team administration.
