Karachi: The Sindh High Court has asked the federal government to respond to the petition against the release of 5,000 tons of wheat brought from Russia from the port.
Sindh High Court heard the petition regarding non-release of 5 thousand tons of wheat imported from Russia from Karachi port.
The petitioner’s lawyer stated that our company was allowed to import wheat from Russia on March 28, 2024, 19 ships of 5 thousand tons of wheat are standing at the port, but the federal government is not permitting to release of the wheat from the port. Imported wheat from Russia is spoiling at the port, we will lose crores of rupees due to spoilage of wheat.
The federal government sought time to submit its response. The court expressed its displeasure over the failure of the federal government to submit its reply. The court adjourned the hearing till July 23 while directing the federal government to submit its reply at the next hearing.
