The government declared ‘X’ as a threat to national security, refused to restore it

X has been banned in the light of the report of institutions sensitive to national security and dignity, Ministry of Interior

KARACHI: While submitting a reply to the Sindh High Court on the issue of the shutdown of Internet and X in the country, the Ministry of Interior has said that X cannot be restored.

In its report, the Ministry of Interior declared X as a threat to national security and said that the work of the Ministry of Interior is to protect the rights of the people of Pakistan, all legal requirements were fulfilled before banning X.

He said that the ban on X in Pakistan is not a violation of Article 19, Article 19 allows freedom of expression, but there are some restrictions on freedom of expression according to the law, hatred against domestic institutions on social media and X. X is a foreign company that has been called into law enforcement numerous times.

The Home Ministry’s response has taken the stand that they had no option but to temporarily shut down x.
