London: The British government of Wales has decided to ban politicians from telling lies. This law is being declared as the first law of its kind in the world.
The Welsh government, one of the UK’s four states, has decided to introduce a law ahead of the 2026 election that would allow MPs to be suspended for making deliberately misleading statements.
MacAntonio, the Consul-General of the Welsh Government, told Snead (Parliament) that if a politician was found guilty of making misleading statements, his membership of the House would be suspended under the Act.
