The Islamabad High Court dismissed the federal government’s intra-court appeals in missing persons cases and reinstated fines on the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and IG Islamabad.
In the Islamabad High Court, a single bench regarding the recovery of missing persons heard appeals against the fines imposed on the Secretary of Defense, Interior, Chief Commissioner, and police officers and heard the recovery case of T-expert Sajid Mehmood, Umar Abdullah, Mudassar Naro and others.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq asked if there was any good news, Mr. Additional Attorney General, that the missing persons had arrived, to which the Additional Attorney General said that there had been no progress regarding the recovery of the missing persons.
The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court expressed anger at the Additional Attorney General for the non-recovery of the missing citizens and said that many years have passed, where are the missing persons, every time you come and say that progress is being made, how long? Give you the time you ask for every time.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq said that the Attorney General has appeared many times before, and Khalid Javed Khan has also appeared. These cases have been under hearing for many years, neither the missing persons have been recovered nor any progress has been made.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb said that there is no progress, tell me what has happened, and what you are doing.
The federal government requested the Islamabad High Court to grant one month more time.
