Sahiwal: Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq and Khawaja Imran Nazir visited the Sahiwal Teaching Hospital and ended the ongoing 17-day strike in the hospital. Speaking on the occasion, provincial health minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the government is providing the highest budget to the health sector and the system will be further improved to avoid tragedies like children’s wards. In the new fiscal year, 540 billion rupees will be spent on health facilities in the province and the requisition for the recruitment of 1,000 new doctors has been sent to the Public Service Commission. During the visit, Khawaja Salman Rafiq and Khawaja Imran Nazir went to the home of Medical Superintendent Dr. Akhtar Mehboob and the injured employee Adnan. Dr. Akhtar Mehboob said that provincial ministers and vice-chancellors came to my house and consoled us, for which they are grateful.
