Paris: About 49 million voters will be able to vote in the first phase of early elections for 577 seats in the lower house of the National Assembly in France.
A candidate who secures 50 percent of the votes in the first phase or at least 25 percent of the turnout will be declared successful.
12.5% of the votes must be secured in the second round.If no candidate can secure 12.5% of the votes, the top 2 candidates will compete in the second round.
The second round of elections will be held on July 7.
It should be noted that the French president had decided to hold parliamentary elections on June 9 after a heavy defeat by the far-right National Rally Party in the European parliamentary elections.
