ISLAMABAD: Justice Athar Minullah issued his 4-page additional note in the case related to the specific seats of the Sunni Ittehad Council in the Supreme Court, in which it was said that a major political party was given the election process by misinterpreting the judgment of the Supreme Court. Justice Athar Manullah wrote in his additional note that the Election Commission admitted that a major party was disqualified in light of the Supreme Court’s decision.
Stating that the Supreme Court decision was not meant to disqualify any party, the counsel for the Election Commission raised serious questions about the transparency of the general elections.
In his additional note, the Supreme Court judge said that the major political party was expelled from the electoral process by misinterpretation of the court decision, and voters were deprived of their fundamental rights by the decision of the Election Commission.
