ISLAMABAD: In the Finance Bill 2024-25, a provision to increase the rate of taxes on tickets for international air travel has been approved.
From 1st July, a tax of Rs 12,500 has to be paid on economy and economy plus tickets for international travel. The tax rate on business, club, and first-class tickets for travel to North, Central, and South America has been reduced to three and a half lakh rupees.
Similarly, the tax on business class and club class tickets to the US and Canada has been increased to Rs 1 lakh from July 1. For travel to the Middle East and Africa, one and a half lakh rupees tax has to be paid on business, first and club class.
A tax of Rs 2 lakh 10 thousand has to be paid on business, first and club class for air travel to Europe. Air travel to the Far East, Australia, and New Zealand will have to pay a tax of Rs 200,000 on business, first, and club class.
