Trinidad: Before the final of the ongoing ICCT20 World Cup in America and West Indies, the South African team once again faced travel problems.
According to the cricket coverage website ‘CricInfo’, the South African team’s flight was delayed in Trinidad for six hours due to the closure of the runway at the Barbados airport.
The South African team, their families, commentators, match officials, and ICC officials were flown to Trinidad Airport after a private small plane made a rough landing at Barbados’ Grantley Adams Airport.
Barbados Airport was closed pending an investigation by the Civil Aviation Authority and the Barbados Police Service.
The flight of the South African team from Trinidad was just about to take off when the pilots received information that the runway at the airport in Bridgetown (the capital of Barbados) was closed.
Passengers of the flight from Trinidad to Barbados were told that the new flight time will be at 4:30 pm, which caused the flight to be delayed for about six hours.
Meanwhile, all the passengers got off the plane and went back to the terminal.
