Sahiwal: The Punjab Food Authority stopped supplying thousands of kilograms of fungus-infected jams, destroyed 5 thousand kilograms of fungus-infected jams, filed an FIR against food business owners, arrested one person, and Food Production Unit Closed until rectified. According to the details, the operation was carried out at Chak 119/9-L Adda Kamir at Marba and Achar unit. Fungus-infested jams of various fruits were stored in chemical drums. Unhealthy jams were to be packed and supplied to various food points in the market. An FIR was registered against the owners of the substandard food in the Kamir police station. On this occasion, the DG Food Authority said that any illegal business related to food should be reported on the Punjab Food Authority’s helpline 1223.
