Sahiwal: The academic future of the students of the only government commerce college is in jeopardy. A plan is ready to shift 84 students studying at Arifwala College to Pakpattan Commerce College. Students who are suffering from mental stress, demand to take immediate notice from Commissioner Sahiwal and Deputy Commissioner Sadia Mehr.
People belonging to weaker sections in Arifwala cannot afford to give their children higher education, they prefer to give commerce education to their children to make them skilled after matriculation. The only commerce college for the youth of the entire tehsil is the hope of those students. In the previous government, the former provincial agriculture minister Dr. Farrukh Javed had also assigned a place for the commerce college from the Punjab government, but due to lack of funds, the college could not be constructed. The college is temporarily established at the government site in Quballa Chowk. 84 students are continuing their studies, it has been learned from sources that a plan has been prepared to shift these students to Pakpattan’s Commerce College.
The number of students of Commerce College of Pakpattan is only 20 and the college is established at a distance of 11 kilometers from Pakpattan. The parents of the students from Arifwala say that in the era of inflation, transport fares are not affordable daily. , while the facility of commerce college is available in Arifwala city, then why is it being planned to shift our children to Pakpattan? We appeal to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz that the educational future of our children should not be put at stake. They should not be deprived of the facility to continue their education in their city, Arifwala.
