Washington: Sponsored by the US Department of State, the number of Pakistani women receiving military training in the US has doubled. A report released by the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs of the US State Department said that the last number of Pakistani women officers receiving military training in the United States has increased by 150 percent in the past decade.
The report states that in the last two years, Pakistan has sent the largest number of women military officers to the United States for training.
From 2020 to 2023, 55 Pakistani women participated in International Military Education and Training (IMET) courses, double the 22 women from 2013 to 2019. In Pakistan, these women advance their professional skills. The military is joining training and education courses to increase and pave the way for more women.
The training is sponsored by the US State Department to build military-to-military relations by funding foreign officers to participate in US military training and education courses.
