Armenia: Despite Israel’s opposition, the European country Armenia has officially announced the recognition of Palestine as a state.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia said in a statement that they support the UN resolution regarding the cease-fire in Gaza and are in favor of a bilateral solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
During the Gaza war, European countries Spain, Ireland, and Norway recognized the Palestinian state last month.
“Reaffirming its commitment to international law, the equality of nations, sovereignty and peaceful coexistence, Armenia recognizes the Palestinian state,” Armenia’s foreign ministry said in a statement.
“Armenia has a genuine interest in establishing lasting peace and stability in the Middle East,” the statement added.
