Quetta: According to Balochistan Levies, unknown people have kidnapped ten people who were coming for a picnic at the recreation area of Harnai district adjacent to Quetta.
The incident took place between Wednesday and Thursday in the Shaban area of the Harnai district, which is a recreational area, about fifty kilometers north-east of Quetta.
An official of the Levies Control Room Harnai Ajmal Qadir said that on the occasion of Eid, there were a lot of tourists here, most of the tourists left before night, but around a hundred tourists stayed overnight in a government rest house in Shaban and its surrounding areas.
He said that late at night forty to fifty unknown armed men came down from the nearby mountains and took all the tourists there as hostages – checked everyone’s identity cards, interrogated them, and took 14 of them with them.
According to the official, they later left four people on the way and took the remaining ten people with them to an undisclosed location.
He said that we have so far identified two of the abductees, one of whom is a customs official – it is reported that most of the abductees are Punjabi-speaking.
