The district administration completely failed to implement the orders of the Punjab government. Bakery owners did not reduce the prices of bread, biscuits, juice, and other items, district officers across Punjab after the Punjab government announced a clear reduction in the prices of bakery items, After a major reduction in the prices of wheat and flour. Orders were issued to strictly implement the rate list by fixing the new prices of bakery items, after which the prices of bakery items such as bread, biscuits, cake juice, fruit cake, etc. A new rate list was issued after re-determination, but it could not be implemented. Consumers have complained that all the bakeries in the city are selling bread, biscuits, juice, and cake according to the old rate. while poor-quality items are being sold at high prices. District officers should be mobilized, and strict action should be taken against those selling bakery items at more than the prescribed prices.
