A fire broke out in the children’s ward of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital, two children died, several in critical condition, and machinery worth crores of rupees were burnt, Commissioner Sahiwal Shoaib Iqbal Syed and MS Dr. Akhtar Mehboob supervised the relief work.

Sahiwal: Two children died in a fire in the children’s ward of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital. The condition of many is critical. The Hospital Administration Commissioner, RPO, DPO, Deputy Commissioner, and rescue teams arrived promptly and started the operation. The families of the children in the hospital and the administration shifted 75 children to different wards. The parents of 9 children returned home with their children. The nursery Ward was burnt to ashes. Machinery worth crores of rupees was burnt. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz asked for a report from Commissioner Sahiwal to investigate this incident and Commissioner Sahiwal formed a committee for investigation. All the children admitted in the ward are safe, out of 75 children admitted in the ward, 66 children are in another ward. 9 children were shifted and taken to their homes by their families. Commissioner Sahiwal Shoaib Iqbal Syed and MS Dr. Akhtar Mehboob supervise the relief work. The ward area has been taken into custody by the police and the scope of the investigation has been widened. A sudden fire broke out in an AC in the hospital ward due to which the entire ward was engulfed in flames. The people of the city have expressed regret over the incident that despite the investment of billions of rupees, the AC caught fire.
