Sahiwal: Farmers in the Sahiwal district have been forced to commit suicide. After Bardana, the canal department committed the second atrocity. When the time came for the farmer to sow the next crop, the water was shut off. The staff of the canal department posted on Rajbah started asking for money from all the farmers. 2R/7R Rajbah was closed for a week due to the farmer’s refusal of money. On Wednesday, it was closed for a week, but last night at the request of someone, the concerned department took money and released the water, which was closed again this morning. As the overseer did not pay the bribe, the canal water of the farmers was stopped. It is appealed to the higher orders that immediate notice be taken of this and immediate transfer of the overseer and immediate release of water in 2R/7R Rajbah.
