Islamabad: The spokesperson of Tehreek-e-Insaf has said that extending the tenure of the Chief Justice will be a shameful and reprehensible act.
The spokesperson of the central media department of PTI, while reacting to the constitutional amendments for the appointment of judges, said that the destruction of the institutions in the country, and the constitutional amendments for the appointment of judges is a continuation of this tradition. What is the decision which harms the supremacy of the constitution and law and weakens the institutions?
The spokesperson said that the current rulers weaken the institutions to advance their illegal and unconstitutional agenda. The conduct of the Chief Justice of Pakistan throughout his tenure as Chief Justice is very regrettable and reprehensible concerning the Constitution and the law.
According to the spokesman, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa has compromised the supremacy of the constitution and the law and has reduced the value of his position. Qazi Faiz Isa has opened the door to extra-constitutional and extra-democratic forces in the independence of the judiciary, which will have far-reaching consequences. The nation is realizing how it has been facilitated to take away the bat sign from a democratic party and stamp on its mandate which the Chief Justice is getting an extension.
The PTI spokesperson further said that the extension of the tenure of the Chief Justice is very shameful and condemnable. The constitution of Pakistan does not allow for amendments to the constitution for any particular person, legislation is always made in situations where there is a collective interest. PTI will oppose this amendment in every legal and democratic way and will block its passage in Parliament.
